The obesity is associated with depression and anxiety

An obesity-related research with certain disorders such as depression or anxiety. What is unclear is the significance of this association, is whether obesity can cause these disorders, or are these that could favor obesity.

A U.S. health care system, Group Health Cooperative has conducted a study of more than 9,000 adults, with an average age of 45. Among other things, information was obtained about their body mass index, suffering from different types of depression or anxiety and dependence on substances such as alcohol or drugs. Obesity and depression have a reciprocal relationship

A study published in the Archives of General Psychatry, has concluded that the “happy fat” is a myth. The researchers claim that there is a “reciprocal relationship between both disorders (depression, and obesity) in both men and women.

The study concluded only that there is indeed such a bidirectional relationship between obesity and depression.
