Pregnancy can cause depression?

For many women, pregnancy can be a wonderful time while for others it may mean a period of anxiety and depression difficult to bear. According to recent research 10% of pregnant women suffer from depression, especially between weeks 6 and 10 of pregnancy and during the third quarter, when the body prepares for labor and birth.

It is estimated that 50% of women with depression during pregnancy develop postpartum depression, but this number is reduced to less than 2% if done right psychotherapeutic treatment during this period.

What are the symptoms of depression?

You can be depressed if you experience four or more of the following symptoms:
• Persistent sad
• Mood swings
• Feeling that nothing is fun
• Lack of concentration
• Anxiety
• Irritability
• Sleeping problems
• Extreme tiredness
• Desire to eat at any time or not to eat
