Walking six miles a week, would reduce the risk of Alzheimer
Walking is the best medicine for slowing the progression of Alzheimer’s disease and reduce the risk to suffer, say researchers who have discovered new U.S. studies
It was found that a daily walk regulates and strengthens the brain’s memory circuits, as well as helping people who are starting to lose memory.
The researchers used magnetic resonance imaging to investigate how regular exercise affects brain structure in people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer’s disease.
Research conducted at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, found that walking six miles a week protects brain structure in people with Alzheimer’s and MCI, especially in key areas of memory and learning centers.
They also assessed that these individuals had a slower decline in memory loss in five years.
In the case of MCI, a person has cognitive or memory problems are more pronounced than the typical memory loss associated with age, but not as severe as those found in Alzheimer’s disease.
