Cold and Flu
Influenza Caused More Deaths Than Any Other Disease in Human History
In October 1918, the world at the end of World War I kept the press censorship. A neutral country in the conflict, Spain, reported that civilians in some nations of the world had become sick and die quickly, therefore passed into history under the name Spanish flu, the pandemic is believed to have started on two possible sites 1917 in Tibet and spread the military movements of the first World War, another hypothesis states that the March 4, 1918, between soldiers stationed in Kansas, USA, while awaiting his transfer to Europe, from there it spread to France the arrival of American soldiers, after numerous flu deaths in July 1918 (1-5)
* Is called to rotate epidemic of a disease affecting many people in one place, a city neighborhood or an entire country. A pandemic is a global epidemic .*
The world was at “peace” when the First World War ended on November 11, 1918, while the Spanish flu spread in the world, those who lived at that time, few did not get sick in that year Life expectancy in the United States of America (USA) was shortened by more than ten years. As recounted in the book the The Great Influenza or “The Great Influenza,” in Rio de Janeiro, a medical student Ciro Vieira Da Cunha waiting for the tram when a man asked him something and immediately died in the City Cape, South Africa, C Lewis boarded a tram to go home when the driver collapsed and died during the journey of five miles six people died but for the same cause (6-10).
The medicine did not know the cause of the disease and its mode of transmission, measures were taken in public health and quarantine at ports, closed cinemas, churches and other public places of human concentration. In San Francisco, Cal, USA, the authorities ordered people to wear masks, who does not do so in public streets, was fined or imprisoned, nothing was effective, the flu did not discriminate against anyone, especially affected by the epidemic were not people elderly, but young, apparently healthy, most were between 20 and 40 years (2-6) in the same country, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in October of that year, the disease was so severe that the coffins were not enough, a coffin maker said it would have sold 5,000 in two hours of having had, since the morgue in the town had ten bodies each coffin available (11-15). Neither the tropical islands were fought in Western Samoa, the disease arrived by boat on November 7, 1918, died two months in 20% of its 38.302 inhabitants, there was no country in the world without loss of life (10)
In a relatively short time, influenza caused more deaths than any other disease in human history, 21 million deaths were reported worldwide, epidemiologists assume that the figure was increased from 50 to 100 million (16)
The Spanish flu caused more deaths in one year than the Black Death in the Middle Ages in a century in twenty-four weeks over AIDS in twenty years, more Americans died that low in the two world wars. It is speculated that if such a disease, it spreads and infects a similar percentage of the current human population in the U.S. and other countries would die a million and half people in a short time, which exceeds the annual mortality from diseases: heart, cancer, strokes, chronic pulmonary disease, AIDS and Alzheimer’s. The Spanish flu pandemic was the most devastating in the history of mankind (14-18)
2 .- The unresolved medicine.
At the beginning of World War I, the medicine made progress in the fight against disease, even during the war, doctors had reduced the effects of infectious diseases in a publication of The Ladies Home Journal, “said the Americans no longer require a room to mourn the dead and intended to call from then on that site: “living rooms”, which in Castilian means “living room.”
Physicians in 1918 were part of the largest failure of twentieth century medicine, where progress is measured in terms of total deaths.
The doctors grasped the magnitude of the pandemic, they knew secondary cure bacterial pneumonia and proposed sanitary measures that would have saved thousands of people, but politicians do not listen to them.
A device that disables the Influenza A Virus
By now we all know that the influenza A virus is transmitted by air and now with the cold better and longer lives. To clean and disinfect the air, just presented in Spain, the European country with largest number of allergies, a device that cleans the air viruses.
This device emits an electrolyzed water vapor, which dispersed around the room in which it is located, is immobilized which virus in suspension and gets inactivate. It also has some filters that clean the air of all odors and bacteria floating on it.
This equipment has been sold in Japan for over a year and in the United States has already deployed in theaters and airports.
